Yesterday while I was preparing Neha for her Spelling Test, we came across "laugh".So she asked me whyis the spelling simply not "lauf" and I had to explain to her whenever "gh" comes it is pronounced like "f".She hardly looked convinced! And the next word was "plough" and now she asked me why here "gh" does not sound like "f"? I gave a blank look and just told her what I had always felt ,"E nglish is a very funny language , kanna."
